How to nominate?

Step 1: Choose a category

The first step is to select the category that best fits your nomination. You can do this by providing your contact information and choosing from the available options.

Step 2: Choose a nominee

Once you have selected a category, you will need to nominate a deserving business or individual. To do this, you will need to provide their name and contact information.

Step 3: Answer questions

The final step is to answer questions about the nominee and the category you have selected. These questions will help the selection committee to learn more about the nominee’s achievements and contributions to their field. Answers must contain a minimum of 25 words.

Nominees must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, except for the Ally of the Year category. They must also reside in the Northern Territory at the time of nomination and meet specific business ownership and operational criteria outlined on the NTIBN website.

Nominations close midnight Sunday 17 July 2024.

Nominations must be made using the official NTIBN website nomination form and submitted online along with any supporting documents. Assistance may be provided by NTIBN staff if needed.
Yes, nominators can submit nominations for more than one individual, but a separate form must be used for each nomination.
Yes, individuals can self-nominate, but only one nomination will be accepted per category.

Winners are chosen by a judging panel. Nominees will be notified if they are shortlisted as Award Finalists, and winners will be announced at the Blak Business Awards ceremony.

Nominations are assessed based on the information provided in the submission, including past and current achievements within their business, demonstrated excellence in the nominated category, and the impact of the nominee’s role for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and their community.
